Does anyone else think The Sound of Music is an amazing movie? ?

I’m 16 years of age and I realize the movie came out over 40 years ago, but it is an amazing movie!
I love the music, it really lifted my spirits during a very difficult time in my life. I find it such a sweet and endearing movie, I used to watch it over and over again.
Does anyone else love that movie?!?

Well of course!!! I remember doing a Little Concert when i was in the first grade. we sang My Favorite Things. LOL i still remember how bright the lights were in my face.
I still have the soundtrack on Vinyl to.

I’m 53.
I first saw it when I was about 10.
I have seen it 20 times since.
Considering the era it was made, and that it was BASED on a true story (but did not tell the whole story) it was a great movie, with great music.
I think if you look for other musicals from that era, you will find other good movies, though some were a little bit weird.
Look for Music by Rogers and Hammerstein.
Also look for Music by George Gershwin.
New is often good, but old can be good too!

Excellent songs–but (to me, at any rate) it plays like a series of skits. In Robert Wise’s other Oscar-winner (West Side Story) the songs are much more integrated into the action.

I love it!!! Omg! At my high school we did our spring musical on that movie, It was awesome!!
