Buy a copy of Windows XP, insert the disk, and restart. Windows will format the entire hard drive (and erase Linux) and install itself. The better question is why would you want to delete Linux?

If in doubt and you have nothing to lose….FORMAT THE DRIVE TIME =)
Honestly, not scary at all. Things might be a bit slow the first time you boot up but once you go and get all your drivers (esp graphics ones) then it should look a much happier laptop.
Windows Update will give you some drivers

Windows was already purchased for this Laptop. Call the manufacture and buy new Restore Disks, about $20 with shipping. They will give you instructions, and it put the laptop back the way it was when it was brand new.
