everything seemed to be going fine with my girlfriend, initially i had noticed she liked me, and to some extend i too had a crush on her, so i eased myself into our relationship. it was going well and we got along, i have become very attached to her, but when we were together, i could tell that she liked me, but was to quite an extent annoyed at me, for i feel that i am not much of a conversationalist. so basically last week, i decided to try to ease off my fear that she was finding me annoying, and the best way i could think of was doing something sweet to show my appreciation for her. She being quite an avid enthusiast of her geology class, and planning to go into that field in the future, I decided on a gift that i had laying around the house and i knew she would love, a meteorite. So i wrapped it up nicely, wrote an adorable and sweet poem to go with it, and left it in her locker. Throughout the course of the day she seemed to not notice it, so finally at the end of the day i pointed it out to her. At the time, she seemed a little frustrated when i told her it was there, but i ignored that, she put the gift in her bag, and as usual went home, i thought noting of it. however, the next day when i went to chat with her at lunch, she returned the gift, unopened (keep in mind the poem was on the exterior, she must have read it), and told me she was very annoyed at me, my gifts, and wanted to end our relationship.

Since then i have been devastated. I know very well that she does in fact still like me, but is annoyed at how horrid i am at small talk.

So after a week of my unfathomable sorrow i have decided i will go to any means to win her back, even now when i am around her, even not together, i feel much happier, and i will not give up the joy her affection has brought me.

So it boils down to this, how do i win her back? she is quite a unique girl, difficult to make time for because she is usually very busy with various family activities ex.. , she has quite a taste for music, where as i tend to not really listen to much if any music. She loves reading, be it novels, online articles, Manga, or what have you. I have learnt a few of my flaws in our relationship that i must fix if i wish to win her back, i have told her not to long ago that i really appreciate what she did for me, breaking up will definitely build my character and enable me to stride to be a better person, but that also i was not going to give up on her, and aware that a relationship would not work in my present state, i will take the coming weeks to better myself. I have already determined that she doesn’t seem to be one for gifts, not just by the meteorite, but by her annoyance when i offer to pay for tickets at the movie, or pay for dinner. as a side note, maybe this may have cultural influence to an answer, but it is a mixed relationship (she is Vietnamese and i am Caucasian)

So it boils down to this - how do i express myself, better myself, make myself a true conversationalist that she will give another chance, and win her back? i am willing to go to any means to do this, but it is difficult to balance my heavy school work load (my semester consist of physics, chemistry and AP calculus, all of these classes lead me to do at least 3 or 4 hours of homework daily to maintain my marks in the high 90’s percentage wise)

Any insight and advice is greatly appreciated, as ever since i have recovered from my shambolic state of mourning i have to say the least told some of my friends that are close to both of us (both female and male friends, primarily the people i think would be supportive of my predicament) and they too are pondering any means for me to reach this seemingly impossible goal.
