When are computers going to be sold with WIndows Vista already installed?

I heard that Windows Vista is coming out on Jan 27. I was wondering whether that means that computers from Jan 27 on are going to have Vista already installed, or do we still need to wait for preinstalled Vista computers? I am quite skeptical about buying a windows xp installed computer that is “Vista capable” but I don’t want to have to wait too much longer for a computer that is preinstalled with vista.

so the other day I did the thing where you clear the computer of everything so its like new. But the sound driver isnt on it anymore and I dont have sound for my laptop. How do i get it back on? it is a windows xp inspiron 2200 model btw

Why won’t my laptop let me install windows XP?

I own a HP dv5000 series laptop. I reformatted my HD, and now when I boot my XP CD and it goes to the blue screen, and loads all the drivers and such, it freezes everytime it gets to the part where the bottom portion says “starting up windows”.
2 CommentsI have tested the HD, RAM, and even resetted my BIOS and none of these methods worked, it does the same thing everytime. I even borrowed a friends empty HD and it did the same thing for his. I have been trouble shooting computers all my life and this one has me stunned. Any suggestions?

Running process before install windows xp sp2 update?

When I try to update my service pack 1 xp to service pack to it gets **** on the running processes before install. I have left the installer on over night and it is still stuck on running processes before install. please help me fix this problem….
